Paper Capers International (PCI) was established in the family’s ancestral home in Quezon City, Philippines in the first quarter of 1988 as a subcontractor for a major exporter of ladies’ fashion accessories and novelty gift items. It diversified into paper mache-based seasonal display, small-home decorations and thematic handicrafts for foreign specialty stores. To meet client orders, it gradually evolved into a factory specializing in novel finishes, trims and touches for home and commercial decors.

Now, PCI is a global supplier of custom-made, avant garde, labor intensive packaging boxes for an international bath and beauty product line.

A Working Family

PCI was nurtured by the parallel commitment for product design perfection, production efficiency and timely delivery of proprietor-owner Arlene Gaddi Maceda and younger brother Arthur Flores Gaddi — both inclined towards creative pursuits, both believing in having fun after a season’s hard work and both dedicated in sharing what they have with others.

The factory is a work hub of skilled and loyal workers spending long hours at work, motivated beyond income needs by a familial bond which has become stronger over time and has weathered PCI’s peaks and lows.
